Salento has two very different coasts. On the Ionian side, to the west, you'll find pale sand, shallow water and sunsets over the sea: Porto Selvaggio, Punta della Suina, Pescoluse, Punta Prosciutto. On the Adriatic side, to the east, the coast is higher and rocky, with coves, sea caves and deep clear water: Torre dell'Orso, Baia dei Turchi, the Grotta della Poesia, Castro, Ponte del Ciolo.
Cutrofiano sits right in the middle: the Ionian is 25–30 minutes away, the Adriatic 35–45. So every day you can pick the coast with the calmer sea, depending on the wind. Below are the beaches we recommend, sorted by distance from the house.
